Decorator Icing
1/3 c. shortening
1/2 t. vanilla
2 c. confectioner's sugar
2 T. milk
Beat shortening several minutes with electric mixer till creamy. Add sugar, 1/2 c. at a time, beating well each time. Add vanilla, then milk, and beat well. Store in air-tight container in fridge and whip before using again. Add a few drops of water for borders, scripts, or icing cakes.
